The 10 walks described on the following pages are not intended to provide an exhaustive coverage of all the footpaths in the area. Walks may be combined or shortened to meet individual needs and for many walks alternative starting places are possible.

Walk Witherslack Introduction

Witherslack is a scattered community made up of three main parts, the area beside the church, Town End and Mill Side. The area around Witherslack is excellent walking country with many varied paths ~ long, short, easy and moderately difficult.

The Walks were compiled following a suggestion by Witherslack Women's Institute that a collection of walks be produced to mark the new millenium. Many thanks to Tilly van Rees, Pauline Hodgson and Val Pattison for contributing walks. Special Thanks to Verginia Clucas for the sketch of the Old Mill and Louis Morton for all the other sketches. Jeff Pattison edited the walk for publication in a small booklet in 2002.
