![]() The Mayor of Lancaster, Jon Barry, has chosen St. John’s Hospice as his charity of the year and he came up with the idea of doing a sponsored bike ride around the newly opened Morecambe Bay Cycle Way in one day towing his Mayoral Trailer – otherwise known as the “Mayormobile”. The route should pass through Witherslack at around 12pm. The timings are: Depart Walney Island - 7am Ulverston - 9am Grange Over Sands -11.30am Silverdale - 13.45 pm Lancaster Millennium Bridge - 15.30pm Glasson Dock 16.30pm – finish Join The Morecambe Bay Partnership for a day of woodland conservation work, pulling up Himalayan Balsam in Meathop Quarry & Woods.

Contact: 07760 884 357 [email protected] ![]() The fifth annual Dean Barwick Mountain Bike Challenge will be held on Saturday 4 July 2015. Those up for the challenge can choose between timed mountain trail biking routes of 25km or 40km. The specially designed courses use bridleways, off-road tracks and exclusive trails on private land, which will be available for this day only, making it a unique way to experience biking through the area. The event is one in a series being held to raise money for a range of important improvements to the school. Under-16 riders are welcome with an accompanying adult.
