New Bay Cycleway opening - 11-14 June

The opening of the new Bay Cycleway takes place between 11 and 14 June - (see here for details) and the riders will be stopping briefly in Witherslack outside the shop/pub on Saturday 13 June at around 10.30am.
It would be great to see a few people there to welcome the riders - bring the kids and perhaps ride along the old road with the 30/35 cyclists.

12noon until 2pm
The lunch includes a two-course meal and tea and coffee.

Holme Crag Garden Party - Sunday 24 May (2-5pm)

Come and enjoy an afternoon at Holme Crag, Witherslack.
Beautiful gardens as featured in Gardens of the Lake District, by Tim Longville. There will be something fro everyone - delicious refreshments, various stalls, a fantastic raffle and children's entertainment.
Entrance fee is £3.50, which includes a cup of tea and cream scone. Children are FREE.
Proceeds in aid of St Paul's Church.

Cumbria Wildlife Trust is holding two conservation work parties in the parish in April.

Latterbarrow Nature Reserve. Tuesday 7 April - 9:30am - 4:00pm

Join WT at this varied nature reserve, helping with a number of tasks including bramble cutting and some tree removal and brash burning. This work, when combined with summer grazing, will help to improve the area of limestone grassland and benefit important butterfly and wildflower species.

Seldom Seen Kent Estuary and Sandside Guided Walk - 10 Aug

Come and join the Seldom Seen Kent Estuary and Sandside Guided Walk on Sunday 10 August from 12 noon

Mapping the Seldom Seen is Art Gene’s artist-led research programme for Morecambe Bay Partnership.

Come explore the salt marsh and estuary views on this afternoon ramble from Arnside to Sandside in the company of artists and experts in local history, ecology and literature. Finish with some hot food before heading home between 4-5pm.

Witherslack Youth Club - Jam Tent Project

In July young people in South Lakeland and Eden are being invited to join in with some musical jamming, during a short series of workshops set up in partnership by Kendal Calling, MusicLinks and Witherslack Monkey Business. The workshops have been funded by Arts Council England.

If you are interested in making music and would like to come with us to Kendal Calling on Friday 1st of August to jam with artists performing there, and to watch some great bands, then we would love for you to join us for the workshops.
